About Winnipee

Winnipee soft launched at the end of July 2022 and is currently in beta. Bugs and glitches are expected. Please let us know if you have any issues by using our contact form.

Winnipee is a directory of public washrooms, water fountains, and wheelchair-accessible services across Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Winnipee firmly believes public washrooms, clean drinking water, and accessibility are basic human rights.

When people don't have access to a safe space to conduct their business or are stuck in our scorching summer heat, they turn to public urination or risk dangerous dehydration.

Winnipee helps tourists and citizens of Winnipeg, Manitoba find public washrooms, water fountains, wheelchair accessibility, and a variety of family, child, and LGBT-friendly services.

Winnipee is built and developed by Andrew McCrea, the founder of the Smashed Window Club — River Heights Neighbourhood Watch Facebook group which successfully campaigned to have vehicle vandalism deductibles waived by Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI).

Our servers are based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and run on clean, renewable hydroelectric power.

We rely on citizens to help populate our database and keep it updated. Our maps and map data are powered by OpenStreetMap.
